About

At the young age of 9, Jim Calogredes’s mother Kathryn first took him to a huge train display at A & S in Brooklyn. There were 3 sets of trains – Lionel, Marx, and American Flyer. He had never witnessed anything like this in his life. From then, his passion started to grow for Model Railroading.

Jim fell in love with trains. After finishing work at the luncheonette, his father Nicholas used to take him and his sister Helen to the train yards and watch the trains pass. There they would hear the trains whistle and pass at around 80mph.

Today, the love for the trains continues. As a hobby enthusiast, Jim loves repairing, restoring and finishing model railroads. This site is dedicated to hobby enthusiasts like himself.
